Tom Murphy At the Pirelli British Masters

This past weekend the final round of the Pirelli British Masters took place at the seaside circuit at Whitby in North Yorkshire. Standing at the top of the circuit and looking all the way down the circuit to the very bottom you have full view of the town and the local seaside making it a very attractive setting. Although that is all great when its a lovely summers day, this weekend the weather blew in from the seaside resulting in a down pour of rain during the weekend making the conditions very slippery on the hard packed circuit. there is also some very intimidating/blind jumps on the circuit which are that much more difficult in the wet.

In qualifying in the early morning, the first sessions were very tricky, with slippery wet track conditions but Tom Murphy managed to string together a decent lap to secure him 10th fastest, this also allowed for a good gate pick all weekend although that’s not too important as the Whitby circuit has quite a fair start allowing good starts to come from almost anywhere on the gate. Race 1 didnt go as smooth as Tom had hoped but he still finished in 19th position by race end. Race 2 saw an improvement from Tom and he managed to improve his finish to a 14th place. Race 3 was a new day as it was the Sunday and it seems Tom was much happier on the bike compared to the day before as he managed to get a 10th and a 8th on the Sunday which gave him 11th overall for the weekends work.

Tom Murphy also managed to secure 6th overall in the Pirelli British masters championship in the small wheel 85cc class in 2015 with his consistent rides through out the season.
