Luke Parker took part in the 2nd round of the Michelin Mx Nationals at Lyng on weekend, cool weather and conditions was on the cards for the weekend but there was always a very good chance of rain at any point but fortunately it held out. Luke Parker was out to try make a statement after having a very tough first round of this championship with a few small issues in Preston Docks. Qualifying ended with Luke in 5th setting him up with a good gate pick for the whole weekend which is important as Lyng uses a concrete start.

Race 1 had Declan Whittle grab the hole-shot, Luke Parker started where he qualified in 5th place, on the first lap he made two paces and moved himself to 3rd and that is where he stayed for the rest of the race starting the weekend strong, Race 2 it was this time Luke Parker who grabbed the hole-shot, he then went on to pull comfortable lead and win the race by 10 seconds.

Race 3 which was Luke’s first race on the Sunday morning had him start 2nd, on lap 4 the initial race leader made a mistake and tumbled down the order, Luke then grabbed the lead and won the race but just under 2 seconds from Shaun Southgate. Race 4 was a plain ride for Luke as he started 2nd and that’s where he stayed for the remained of the race but Luke knew that was all he needed to do to secure the overall win on the day and take over the championship lead in the MX1 Expert Cup.
