GH Motorcycles G&B Finch Race Team Maxxis British Championship Round 3

Luke Parker and Luke Benstead took part in the 3rd round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Canada Heights on Sunday. With decent weather on the cards all day, it was setting up to be some very fast paced racing conditions on the hillside circuit in Kent. This was again a fairly local round in the championship for both our riders although they both only get to ride this track a couple of times a year. Both riders were on good form after having two back to back weeks of Eastern Centre racing helping build their confidence with a couple race wins. Qualifying ended with both our riders feeling frustrated with their times after the session was unfortunately red flagged for a rider who had a nasty crash. Luke Benstead was in 24th and Luke Parker was in 26th position.

Race 1 had both riders get off with decent starts and well into the points, Luke Benstead was mixing it up just outside the top 10 with some big names once again and finished in 15th place after the 2nd red flag of the day cut race 1 short. Luke Parker had a much better ride in race 1 and ended up 19th with more points in the bag making it two rounds in a row he has scored points.

Race 2 had Luke Benstead get another good result with him finishing 13th after the 30 minute race was completed giving him 12th overall on the day. Luke Parker had a great start in race 2 starting just outside the top 5 and running in 8th for a long time in race 2, unfortunately with 10 minutes  to go Luke picked up a front puncture and was forced to pull it in and not finish the race, this hurt his overall finish but still secured 25th overall.
