Tom Murphy has been keeping himself busy the past few months, putting his skill level to the ultimate test in some of the strongest junior championships in the United Kingdom. Tom has competed in every round of the Pirelli Masters Championship, Thor British Youth National and the British Route 77 Cup. The First round of the British cup was held at Wilden Lane and Tom Murphy qualified 14th. The first race didnt go to plan and he only ended up with a 31st but then got back up to speed and posted a 17th, 9th, 14th in the next 3 races to put him in 16th overall for the weekends effort.  The First round of the Masters was at the famous Hawkstone park circuit in Shropshire where Tom qualified  11th fastest in the early morning session. Tom then went on to have 4 consistent rides scoring a 10th,9th, 9th,10th giving him 8th overall for the weekend.Round 2 of the British Cup was held at Preston Docks mx track where Tom went on to have another solid day in this series. He qualified 14th and scored a 10th. 12th,13th,11th to land himself 12th overall for the weekend.

The First round of the British Youth nationals was  in Cumbria and Tom and family drove cross country to attend the event. He qualified 18th and then had 3 good race scores and 3 no scoring race results his results were 14th, 17th, 26th, 15th, 26th, 21st for 21st overall. Round 2 of the Pirelli British Masters was at Dean Moor circuit all the way up north. He had a good a good time in qualifying and had 8th gate pick for the weekend. Tom Murphy nearly stayed in the top 10 all weekend except for the very last race of the weekend. His race results were 7th, 10th,  10th,12th giving him a top ten overall in 10th. These first to rounds of the British masters has Tom Murphy lying 6th in the 85cc small wheel championship.

Next up for Tom’s busy race schedule was round 3 of the British Cup at the hillside circuit Landrake. Tom qualified 18th in his first session on the track for the weekend. He then went on to have 2 great rides giving him a 13th,12th for day 1. Day two was tough for the young pilot and found himself only able to salvage a 31st and a 21st in his 2 races leaving him with 21st overall for the weekend. Tom Murphy was most recently at Cusses Gorse mx track for round 2 of the British Youth nationals. He qualified 23rd in the small wheel 85 class for the weekend. Day 1 he went on to get a 23rd, 20th, 22nd. Day 2 came alot easier for Tom as he scored a 18th, 19th, 20th to end up 20th overall for the weekend.

Tom Murphy is now keeping himself busy while he has a few weeks break from racing by training with the RMJ Academy with gp riders such as Adam Sterry. His dad is using the time off racing to freshen up the bikes to get ready for another mad month in June of racing all over the country again.
