GH Motorcycles G&B Finch Race Team Eastern Centre Round 1

Brad Tomlin, Luke Parker, Luke Benstead and Josh Keeble took part in the first round of the Eastern Centre Motocross Championship at Wakes Colne on Sunday, Fairly chilly but dry weather left the Wakes Colne circuit in its traditional hard packed form with some loose stones spread throughout the track to make sure you on on your game at all times. Our riders were the first to hit the track in the morning and having all riders posting times inside the top 10 with Luke Benstead in 5th, Luke Parker 6th,  Brad Tomlin in 8th and Josh Keeble in 33rd on his RM-Z250 leaving all riders with decent gate picks for the 3 races.

Race 1 had Brad Tomlin grab the hole shot and lead over 10 minutes of the race to eventually have Dylan Woodcock slip by and take the win, Luke Benstead had a busy race after falling early on in the mud after the track organises had put water down on the track right before race 1, but he managed to fight back to 4th at the line. Luke Parker didn’t  get the best of starts and struggled with a few small set up issues all day but came home in 5th for race 1. Unfortunately Josh Keeble crashed early in race 1 and hurt his hand, he was forced to pull out of the race and after seeing the medics was advised to sit out the remainder of the day.

Race 2 had Luke Benstead get the hole shot this time and was virtually unchallenged all race to win race 2. Brad Tomlin put in another very strong ride to finish 3rd with Luke Parker in 4th. Race 3 had Brad Tomlin challenge for the lead early on but would eventually finish a strong 3rd making him the only rider all day to finish on the podium in all 3 races. Luke Benstead and Luke Parker finished the race in 5th and 6th place respectively finding it difficult to make passes on the very slippery dry track at the end of the day.
