All Comers

This past weekend two of our GH Motorcycles G&B Finch Riders went and competed in the British Clubmans Side-car / NGR meeting where they both rode Solo machines in the All Comers class. Brad Tomlin on the 2015 Yamaha YZ450F and Brendon Mayers on the 2015 Suzuki RMZ450.

Qualifying took place shortly after 10 and the all comers were split into two groups. Brad Tomlin was in the first session and set the fastest time of the group of a 01:28.889 giving him the pole position for the best gate pick all day. Brendon Mayers was in the 2nd session and managed to post the 2nd fastest time 01:31.553 of his group. This time landed him in 4th overall for qualifying leaving him with a strong gate pick for all 3 races.

Race 1 had Brendon Mayers shoot out of the gate on his RMZ450 to grab the hole shot and lead early on. Unfortunately he suffered a big crash and banged his hip up which left him a lap down and finishing outside the points. Brad Tomlin had a strong start to the race starting with the leading pack and eventually finishing off in 3rd.

Race 2 had Brad Tomlin out to an early lead and controlled the race from the front and eventually crossed the finish nearly 3 seconds ahead of 2nd place rider. Brendon Mayers had a good race going in race 2 where a rock unfortunately got jammed in his front brake caliper locking the front wheel and damaging his front brake forcing him to DNF.

Race 3 was another easy win for Brad Tomlin showing his true form on the fast hard packed Wattisfield circuit. Brendon Mayers used a spare bike off of a friend which is the smaller 250 machine and raced it to a 9th place finish.

This Event did hold a super final which you had to qualify through to from your previous 3 races on the day.Brad Tomlin took off and rode off to a convincing win again with a margin of over 7 seconds to his nearest competitor. Brendon Mayers had  his best race of the day in the super final saving his best for last once again and racing to a solid 4th place to end the day strong.

Overall Results was your two best race scores with Brad Tomlin ending up 2nd Overall and Brendon Mayers 14th.
