Exterior.
With a roadster-inspired design, the Vitpilen 801 only features essential bodywork that wraps tightly around the upper frame to create a close connection between the rider and the machine. The unique and progressive styling is boosted by the striking graphics and contrasting tones that combine to exude a distinctive appearance. Up front, and giving the Vitpilen 801 a progressive identity, a Bi-LED headlight sits proudly and lights up the road when the sun goes down.
Frame.
The Vitpilen 801 delivers advanced agility and stability through its compact tubular steel frame, with its geometry developed for a new breed of street motorcycle. Strong and light hydro-formed components are laser cut and robot welded to ensure precision and durability while a calculated balance of flex and rigidity offers outstanding feedback.
LED projector lens.
Illuminating the way in low-light situations, the Bi-LED headlight provides a seriously bright output and creates an unmistakable look for the Vitpilen 801. To make sure the machine is clearly visible at all times, a light ring surrounds the headlight and adds a distinctive style to the front end. At the rear, an LED taillight and turn signals integrate neatly into the bodywork to ensure the smooth contours of the bodywork are left undisturbed.
Handlebar.
Lightweight, anodised black, and with a flat bend, the aluminium handlebars ooze style and provide a perfect amount of flex for riders to feel what the chassis is doing beneath them. A WP steering damper boosts front wheel stability while adjustable bar mounts allow riders to set their preferred position for the handlebars.
Tank.
Central to the design concept of the Vitpilen 801, the 14-litre, bullet-shaped fuel tank is housed inside a unique cover that provides extensive knee contact for a confidence-inspiring ride. This allows riders to move freely when accelerating and braking, for maximum control.
Seat.
The seat is tapered from the front for easy access and movement while riding. Made from high-quality materials and carefully engineered foam, the seat offers assured comfort and durability a yellow highlight strip tops off the stunning appearance.
Parallel twin engine.
The Vitpilen 801 is powered by a compact, 799 cc parallel-twin engine that produces 105 hp. Advanced engineering techniques used to build the engine, including active crankcase evacuation and semi dry-sump lubrication, ensure exceptional efficiency in addition to delivering outstanding performance and durability, with service intervals set at 15,000 km.
Easy Shift.
The optional Easy Shift is an incredible feature that ensures gear changes are as smooth and quick as possible. Once the EMS registers movement on the gear lever, it momentarily limits power, ensuring seamless upshifts or matches engine speeds when downshifting. For a simplified riding experience, the clutch is not needed when changing gear on the Vitpilen 801.
Ride modes.
The Vitpilen 801 is equipped with multiple electronic rider aids to improve its usability. Pre-set ride modes offer three different settings – Street, Sport, and Rain. Street is engaged as standard while Sport sharpens the throttle response, giving riders the ability to break traction and steer with the rear wheel. Rain can be activated in adverse weather conditions for a less aggressive throttle response and reduced power output. For the individual setup of throttle response, traction control, and advanced rider settings, a Dynamic mode is available.
Dynamic pack.
The optional Dynamic pack elevates the riding experience and unlocks the full potential of the Vitpilen 801. The Dynamic riding mode can be set up to personal preferences, 3 different throttle response settings can be selected, Street, Sport or Dynamic. On top, it includes a 10-level slip adjustment, a 5-level anti-wheelie control, and MSR (Motorcycle Slip Regulation).
Anti-Wheelie mode.
The Vitpilen 801 features an anti-wheelie mode within the optional Dynamic pack offering five separate levels of control, from Very Low to Very High, which allow for a specific degree of wheelie. Experienced riders can also switch the mode off completely for complete control of the motorcycle.
Motorcycle Traction Control.
By quickly processing lean angle data from three integrated sensors, Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) is active in all ride modes and comes as a standard feature. This helps the Vitpilen 801 maintain traction through corners and increases safety in all conditions. Alternatively, MTC can be switched off by advanced riders who wish to drift around corners and enjoy a much livelier riding experience.
Motorcycle Slip Regular.
Engine braking is controlled by Motor Slip Regulation (MSR) which balances throttle application in the event of high engine drag torque caused by down shifting or abrupt closing of the throttle. The optional MSR function is included in the Dynamic pack and available as a stand-alone extra. It ensures smooth deceleration to afford extra safety, especially in low grip situations, to reassure beginners and experienced riders alike.
Ergonomics.
Unrestrictive ergonomics deliver a confidence-inspiring riding experience. The seat, footrests, and smooth fuel tank cover place the rider in an optimal position to achieve a low centre of gravity, aiding handling for a heightened level of control. Adjustable handlebar mounts add a level of customisation to the Vitpilen 801.
Suspension.
Premium WP suspension provides advanced performance when riding through urban environments and on faster, flowing roads. The easily adjustable 43 mm WP APEX open cartridge front forks offer 140 mm of travel and the option to customise the compression and rebound settings. A WP rear shock, connected directly to the die-cast aluminium swingarm for optimised flex and stability, features 150 mm of travel for maximum comfort and the option to fine-tune the rebound and preload.
Brakes.
Exceptional stopping power comes from state-of-the-art, dual disc J.Juan brake systems. On the front wheel, two 300 mm floating front discs are paired with radially-mounted four-piston callipers while a 240 mm rear disc and two-piston calliper takes care of the braking. Additionally, the Bosch ABS system can be switched to Supermoto ABS. This will deactivate the ABS on the rear wheel to allow advanced riders to slide into corners.
Wheels and tyres.
Lightweight, 17″, cast alloy wheels offer strength, durability, and minimal unsprung weight. The wheels are complete with a black anodised finish to highlight their premium quality and Michelin Road 6 tyres, which provide exceptional traction and predictability on the asphalt.
Gearbox.
A 6-speed sequential gearbox offers quick and precise gear changes. The Easy Shift sensor registers movement on the gear lever to momentarily limit power for smooth upshifts. Glass bead-blasted teeth on the 4th, 5th and 6th gears provide exceptional reliability.
TFT dashboard.
A 5″ TFT dashboard with a bonded glass screen shows vital information to riders. The travelling speed, fuel level, and the selected gear are all clearly displayed and visible at a glance. It is controlled by the backlight switch cubes on the left side of the handlebar.
Connectivity.
With the Connectivity Unit fitted as standard, the Vitpilen 801 provides riders with various features to enhance their riding experience. With a smartphone connected via Bluetooth, music can be played and controlled, and calls can be made or received. The Remote Control Mode (RCM) enables the rider to control the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app with buttons on the handlebar for added safety and simplicity.
Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles.
Once downloaded onto a smartphone before riding, the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app offers connectivity and unlimited exploration. When paired with the Vitpilen 801, Turn-by-Turn navigation on your device can be displayed on the TFT dashboard allowing riders to easily follow directions and take the fastest route between A and B.
Cruise control switch.
Perfect for those straighter roads on longer rides, the cruise control switch adds a layer of convenience to the Vitpilen 801. Available as a Technical Accessory, the handlebar-mounted component replaces the original switch cube to offer cruise control in addition to the existing electronic riders aids.
Service.
The state-of-the-art parallel-twin engine offers exceptional performance, reliability, and serviceability. Thanks to the advanced engineering techniques used during the assembly of each engine, the oil, oil filter, and air filter only need to be replaced every 15,000 kilometres after an initial oil change at 1,000 kilometres.
Anti-theft.
The Vitpilen 801 has an immobiliser fitted as standard to provide anti-theft protection. This electronic security feature is embedded in the motorcycle and is automatically activated when you turn off the ignition, making it a hassle-free yet effective theft deterrent.
